KR Academy is a not-for-profit Ski Academy, geared towards high performance athletes with a structured pathway but with a fun culture and an integrative approach.

Founded by World Champion & Hometown Freestyle Mogul skier, Kristi Richards, joined by an elite and handpicked squad of Competition Development and Certified Air 4 and Doubles coaches.

Based in Beautiful BC, and partnering with local resorts and Clubs to deliver the best programming possible.

We offer robust programs, integrating on snow skills with sports sciences like nutrition, strength and conditioning, fitness assessments and sport psychology.

We offer a full time scholar-athlete program and boarding through UNISUS, our partner school based in Summerland, BC, that offers an IB World International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.

We meet each athlete as a whole person, considering social, environmental, demographic, academics, other interests, age, learning styles and sport science needs. Customized training plans and program offerings, all year round or seasonal.

We have a full suite of year round programs, with everything from an integrated scholar athlete program with UNISUS school, Jr Performance Team, High Performance Team and Australian HP Mogul Program.

We have programs and camps operating all year round, accessing Resorts and facilities around the world as we chase the snow and make dreams a reality.

*please note that we are not a grassroots program. However, we do partner with local Clubs, Provincial Sport Organizations and communities to offer the next level of support and programming needed to assist you through your athletic pathway.

High Performance Programs and Teams

Our programs start with great coaches.

Led by 2 X Olympian, Kristi Richards, and supported by dedicated career coaches that are highly certified with Air 1, 2, 3, 4 and doubles courses, as well as a commitment in their progressions through NCCP modules and Advanced Coaching Diplomas. We have three in house learning facilitators that work closely with Freestyle Canada and Freestlye BC to deliver coaching courses to build, mentor and maintain great coaches in our sport systems.

Our coaching staff strive to create a positive sport culture, with safe and supportive environments for learning and collaboration.

We have comprehensive coach mentorship programs for those who want to shadow one of our senior coaches during our programs or camps, or elevate their coaching portfolios through coaching courses or experience.

UNISUS SnowSport Academy

The UNISUS Snowsports Academy is tailored for scholar-athletes aspiring to achieve their highest potential in snowsports, while acquiring academic achievements to enable life-long academic and professional success.
Our UNISUS Snow Sports Academy and Scholar-Athlete program has been developed in partnership with KR Academy and Apex Ski Club, becoming the first school in B.C. to offer a snow sports academy together with an innovative International Baccalaureate academic program.
Designed to provide aspiring young athletes with top-tier training through a holistic athlete development system, a pathway to succeed at international high-level competition, and an IB-enriched academic program that empowers individuals through a personalized learning system.
Our Academy program offers a unique opportunity for students to excel in both their academic and athletic pursuits.
